At Marking Systems, we understand the importance of minimizing our environmental impact. As a responsible manufacturer, we strive to continuously improve our processes and adopt sustainable practices. 

A Greener Screen Reclaiming Process: 

One significant step we’ve taken is the modernization of our screen reclaiming process. Previously, this essential task involved manual labor, exposing employees to harmful chemicals and fumes. Workers had to wear cumbersome hazmat suits, and the process generated substantial water waste that was contaminated with chemicals and ink. 

We’ve now invested in an automated wash and reclaiming system. This cutting-edge technology significantly reduces water consumption and ensures that the wastewater discharged is clean and free from harmful substances. By automating the process, we’ve also eliminated the need for manual labor and the associated health risks for our employees. 

Shifting Towards Eco-Friendly Inks and Technologies: 

To minimize the impact of our manufacturing processes on both our employees and the environment, we have transitioned from solvent inks to UV inks. UV inks are significantly less harmful to human health and the environment. Furthermore, we have replaced traditional UV lamps with energy-efficient LED UV systems, further reducing our environmental footprint. 

Compliance with Prop 65: 

We are committed to meeting the stringent requirements of California’s Proposition 65, which aims to protect consumers from exposure to chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. We are capable of bagging and packaging parts according to Prop 65 standards for customers who require it. 

Embracing Sustainable Standards (ISO 14001:2015): 

Our commitment is further solidified by our ongoing pursuit of ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification. This internationally recognized standard provides a framework for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an environmental management system  within our organization. We anticipate achieving this crucial certification by early 2025.
